CSRS Retirement Planning


This session covers CSRS and the Survivor Annuity.  Attendees will learn how to estimate their CSRS Pension and learn the confusing two tier formula used to compute the survivor annuity.

 Also discussed are the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO).

FERS Retirement Planning


This session covers FERS,  the Social Security Supplement, Social Security and the Survivor Annuity.  Attendees will learn how to estimate their FERS Pension and Social Security Supplement along with getting a better understanding on how Social Security works and it's limitations.  Furthermore, attendees will learn about the 2 levels of the FERS survivor annuity and what plans, provisions and alternatives are available.

FEGLI- Highlighting it's strengths a pitfalls.


This session explains FEGLI in great detail and also explains which parts are a bargain, and which parts are not competitive with the private sector.  Attendees will also about the different types insurance on the market and how evaluate their existing FEGLI and private sector insurance portfolio .

TSP - How to manage it throughout your career and into retirement.


Just like the course title suggests, this session explains how to best select the appropriate TSP funds and manage them throughout their career.  Also discussed is the MetLife Annuity and why it is advantageous to stay int he TSP after retirement versus rolling it into an IRA.
